SAMVAD – SWACHHATA HI SEVA 2026
As part of Swachhata Hi Seva–2026, a “Samvad” (Interaction Session) was organized by the Palakkad Division of Indian Railways on 24 September 2026 at the Meeting Hall, DRM Office, Olavakkode, Palakkad. Ten students from Ahalia School of Commerce & Mathematics (ASCM) participated in the interaction session. The programme provided an opportunity for students to interact with the Divisional Railway Officer and Assistant Railway Officer, along with other railway officials, and share their ideas, suggestions and views regarding railway services, passenger amenities, cleanliness and other aspects of railway development. An awareness video on Swachh Bharat and cleanliness practices was shown as part of the programme. The officers invited suggestions from the students and discussed the problems, difficulties and complaints they may have experienced while using railway services. The students were also informed about the Indian Railways helpline number 139, which can be used for passenger assistance, enquiries and registering grievances. The officers also introduced the RailMadad mobile application, through which passengers can register train and station complaints, submit suggestions and feedback, seek assistance and track the status of their complaints. The students were encouraged to make use of these facilities for reporting issues related to cleanliness, passenger amenities and other railway services. Following the interaction session, an awareness rally was conducted from the DRM Office to Palakkad Junction Railway Station. The ten participating students actively joined the rally and supported the message of cleanliness and responsible civic participation. The programme helped create awareness among students about maintaining cleanliness in public spaces and railway premises and encouraged them to contribute to the Swachhata Hi Seva initiative.
