On Thursday, 30th May 2024, a workshop on Four Year Under Graduate Programme (FYUGP) was conducted by Ahalia School of Commerce and Mathematics at ASCM Seminar Hall. There were two sessions. The first session was on the topic “Demystifying CUFYUGP – Your road map to success” for students and parents of upcoming batch. The second session was on the topic “Implementing workload and course offerings in FYUGP” for faculties. The resource person of the session was Dr Jiju A. Mathew, Dean – Planning and Communication, St Thomas College, Thrissur and Member, PG Board of studies in Computer Science, University of Calicut. The welcome address was delivered by Ms Jini K. S., Assistant Professor, ASCM. The inauguration was by Dr S N Jagadeesh, Principal, ASCM. In his inaugural speech, he emphasized the purpose of implementing FYUGP by the University of Calicut in all colleges and the significance of the four-year degree to the students. In the first session the resource person elucidated the essential aspects such as curriculum structure, academic requirements, career opportunities and tips for effective navigation and achievement. Participants likely gained a clear understanding of the programme’s objective and how to optimize their journey towards success. In the second session, he explained about how to design a curriculum that balances student’s needs and interests. This includes the ways of structuring the courses to cover foundational knowledge while also providing flexibility for exploration and specialization. The session ended by 1.45 pm with vote of thanks by Ms Sheeba Kumar S., Assistant Professor, ASCM.
