On Thursday 8^th February 2024 Ahalia School of Commerce and Mathematics conducted a session on ‘REVIEW OF INTERIM BUDGET ‘ which was presented by the students of ASCM. The session started at 11:00 A.M. The host of the program was Ms. Deepika S from 2nd Year BBA. Dr. S N Jagadeesh, Principal, ASCM gave a brief talk about budget and the importance of conducting budget presentation. The main theme and highlights of budget 2024-25 was presented by Ms. Srinaya.M. 2nd Year BBA student. Performance of key schemes was introduced by Ms. Laxmi Panickar, 1st Year BBA. She explained various schemes like PM-SVANidhi, PM-Janman Yojana, PM-Kisan Yojana, PM-Fasal Bima Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, etc., and how it has been benefited people across various sectors. Mr Roshan Unus from 2nd Year BBA presented the changes brought in taxation (direct tax and indirect tax) and the tax proposals by the Government for the upcoming year. The main focus was on the Government’s vision to improve ease of living and ease of doing business. Mr Naveen Raj R from 2nd Year BBA explained the value addition in the agricultural sector which emphasizes boosting farmers’ income, promoting private and public investment in post-harvest activities, the application of Nano DAP on crops, and a comprehensive program for supporting dairy farmers. Rashtriya Gokul Mission, National Livestock Mission and Infrastructure Development Funds are the existing schemes for dairy processing and animal husbandry. Ms.Liyadas, 3rd Year BBA student explained the infrastructure development plans and initiatives of the government especially in the field of Railways, Aviation and Metro and Namo Bharat. Ms. Drisya S from 1st Year BBA presented the changes in the sectors of science and technology and also about green energy, its importance and benefits. It was stated that the government plans to promote climate resilient activities for Blue Economy 2.0 which involves measures for adapting coastal aquaculture and mariculture. Ms Pooja K. 3rd Year BBA student explained the Government plans on healthcare services. She mentioned the newly designed U-WIN platform for managing immunization and also Ayushman Bharat scheme which will be extended to all ASHA workers, Anganwadi Workers, and Helpers. The conclusion of the entire presentation of interim Budget 2024-25 was given by Ms.Almas Fathima.S 3rd Year BBA student. She also pointed out the highlights of the whole budget and the changes which will be introduced by the Government for the benefit of general public.
