GREEN AUDIT SURVEY: NET ZERO HARITHA KERALAM PROJECT
On Friday 22nd August 2025, 30 students and a faculty Mr. Binil P.V, Assistant Professor from Ahalia School of Commerce and Mathematics (ASCM) and 42 students and a faculty, Mr Ajith Sankar R.N, Assistant Professor from Ahalia School of Management (ASM) participated in the green audit survey, as part of the ‘Net Zero’ Haritha Keralam project. The event began at 9.00 AM. At the ASCM/ ASM forecourt. Mr Ajith Sankar R N, gave an introductory talk about ‘Net Zero’ initiative and the ‘Haritha Keralam’ project. Following this, Mr Vishnu from ‘Green Ahalia’ demonstrated to the students on how to do a tree survey, and explained the process of calculating the height and girth of a tree. Students were made to join as groups, consisting of 4-5 members. The area allocated to ASCM & ASM team started from the closed-gate (at the end of the “Ahalia College Road” (as indicated in Google Maps), near ASCM/ ASM) extending through ASCM/ ASM, Punarjani Auditorium and till the Sculpture Park. Areas were allocated to student groups. Efforts were made by the students to go inside both sides of the roads, including the paddy fields and the lone trees standing in the middle of the paddy fields. The students completed the survey by approximately 1.00 PM.
