A DEBATE ON ‘IS TECHNOLOGY INCREASING PEOPLE’S QUALITY OF LIFE’

On behalf of   INTERNATIONAL DAY OF EDUCATION, a debate was organized by Ahalia School of Commerce and Mathematics on Friday, January 24, 2025, in the seminar Hall. The program commenced by 11.00 AM. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and staff, with the topic ” Is Technology Increasing People’s Quality of Life ” sparking an engaging discussion. Students from all the classes participated, and were divided into two teams: Group 1 debated For the Motion, highlighting the positive impacts of Technology. Group 2 debated Against the Motion, focusing on its challenges and downsides. Dr. S.N Jagadeesh, Principal addressed the gathering, speaking on the significance of International Education Day, and highlighted the role of technology in transforming education. The event successfully highlighted the complexities of the topic, leaving attendees with valuable insights into the role of technology in modern life. The debate emphasized the need for thoughtful integration of technology to improve quality of life while addressing its challenges. It has successfully provided a platform for students to express their views and foster critical thinking. The audience appreciated the relevance of the topic and the participant’s efforts. The debate concluded with the judges announcing the winners by mentioning the Best Debater Award in each team: Nandhana (1st Year BBA) from Group 1 for her clear and convincing arguments. Drishya (2nd Year BBA) from Group 2 for her articulate counterpoints and critical analysis. The student coordinators of the event were Srinaya M and Deepika S of 3rd Year BBA. The program came to an end by 1:00 PM
