NATIONAL GIRL CHILD DAY CELEBRATION
Ahalia School of Commerce and Mathematics celebrated “National Girl Child Day” on Wednesday, 24th January 2024 at 10.00 am. National Girl Child Day is celebrated in the country on January 24th every year with an objective to provide support and opportunities to the girls of India. This day was first initiated in 2008 by the Ministry of Women and Child Development. It aims towards promoting awareness about the rights of the girl child and to increase awareness on the importance of girl’s education, health and nutrition and also to promote the girl’s position in the society for a better living condition. Gender discrimination is a major problem that girls and women face throughout their life. Principal of Ahalia School of Commerce and Mathematics, Dr S N Jagadeesh inaugurated the event. He spoke about the importance of National Girl Child Day”. He also expressed his views on the values of celebrating and empowering the girl child. An oath taking ceremony was also arranged for the students regarding Girl Child Education to ensure no girl child is left behind.
