The Inaugural function of the Four Year Under Graduate Programme (FYUGP) of BBA for the Academic Year (2024-28) of Ahalia School of Commerce and Mathematics was held on Monday, 01.07.2024. The ceremony started with a prayer song and lamp lighting by the Chief Guest and all the Dignitaries. The welcome speech was by Mrs. Athulya Baby, Assistant Professor. Then Mrs. Sheeba Kumar S, Assistant Professor and Academic Coordinator of FYUGP had a session on FYUGP and NEP to the students and parents. She talked about the rules and regulations and credit system followed, major and minor courses of FYUGP offered to the BBA course. She also mentioned about the credit patterns followed and degree options available to the students. FYUGP is designed to cater to the diverse academic needs of students and seeks to offer options of multiple entries / exits and obtain a Degree (Honours) or a Degree (Honours with Research) at various levels as stipulated under the policy.  The four-year degree is being implemented from this academic year in Kerala. Our Honourable Chief Minister, Sri. Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the Four-Year Degree Program via hybrid mode at 12.00 PM. This was live streamed by ASCM to all. In his speech he explained about the importance of FYUGP and how the framework introduces exciting opportunities for students, such as research initiatives and internships. These additions are designed to enhance the academic journey, allowing students to deepen their studies or refine the skills they have developed throughout their coursework. After the live stream, Dr. S N Jagadeesh, Principal, ASCM delivered the presidential address for the formal inauguration of BBA Honours 2024-28 batch of ASCM. In his address, he elucidated the establishment of FYUGP in current educational system in KERALA. He also briefed about why this FYUGP is implemented in INDIA. Later the Chief guest Prof (Dr) E G Ranjit Kumar,Director(Students Welfare) Kerala Agricultural University, inaugurated the new academic year of ASCM. In his inaugural message he mentioned the role of education in the life and society and about the process of learning and teaching shifting to new and innovative realms. He enlightened the students by his motivating words. Later Dr. Krishna Kumar Kishor, Executive Director, Ahalia Group of Institutions felicitated the gathering. In his felicitation address, he highlighted that the students must know their responsibilities and their values in building life and nation. He encouraged the students about the various new job opportunities waiting in MNC companies and others etc. He welcomed everybody to the College and to this new academic year.  Then Prof (Dr) B Vijayachandran Pillai, Director and Principal, Ahalia School of Management delivered a felicitation. In his felicitation speech he exhorted the students to make use of numerous opportunities to grow in the intellectual formation. He has also motivated them to contribute in nation building. The Vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. Jini K S Assistant Professor, ASCM. The program was anchored by Ms. Laxmi Panikar from 2nd year BBA. Mrs. Athulya Baby, Assistant Professor and Ms. Jini K S Assistant Professor were the programme coordinators. The morning session ended by 1.45 pm. Later from 2.30 pm the new batch students along with their parents had a campus visit. The programme ended by 4.00 pm.
