EIGHT DAY UNIVERSAL HUMAN VALUES PROGRAMME FOR BATCH 2025-2029

On Tuesday, 2nd July 2025 Ahalia School of Commerce and Mathematics conducted a 8 days UHV program for the 2025-29 batch. The first session was on the Topic Introduction to FYUGP (Four Year Undergraduate Programme) presented by Mrs. Sheeba S. Kumar, Assistant Professor, ASCM from 9:15 am. The Resource person began her session by highlighting the context and vision behind the implementation of the Four Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP), as per by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The initiative aims to bring about a paradigm shift in undergraduate education by promoting holistic, multidisciplinary, and flexible learning.
Emphasizing the student-centric nature of the programme, she explained how FYUGP offers multiple entry and exit points with certifications at the end of each academic year—ranging from a certificate after one year, a diploma after two years, a bachelor’s degree after three years, and a bachelor Honours degree after the fourth year. This structure is supported by the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC), a digital repository to store and transfer credits earned by students. She elaborated on how the curriculum under FYUGP integrates foundational courses, skill enhancement modules, major and minor specializations, vocational training, internships, value-based education, and a significant research component in the fourth year.
The programme encourages interdisciplinary learning by enabling students to select courses across various streams, thus developing broader knowledge and problem-solving capabilities. She pointed out that the programme helps students become more creative, confident, and job-ready. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, where she addressed participant queries on credit transfer, evaluation systems, and the role of FYUGP in career advancement and higher studies. Her presentation was well-received for its clarity, depth, and practical insights into how FYUGP aims to empower students for a dynamic and rapidly changing world.
Group activity: Innovative product development by students
As part of our academic initiative to promote creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving among students, a group activity was conducted on the theme “Innovative Ideas by Merging Two Products.” The activity encouraged students to explore the possibilities of creating a new, practical product by creatively combining features of two existing products. Students were divided into groups of 4-5 members. They were asked to identify two existing products and combine their features to form a new, innovative product and to present the new product including its purpose, benefits, target audience, and basic design or prototype idea. The group activity was highly successful in sparking innovation and teamwork among students. The exercise demonstrated how creative thinking and collaboration can lead to the development of useful, market-ready products which helps them to conceive like entrepreneurs and problem-solvers in the real world. The session ended by 1pm.





The students visited Ahalia FM 90.4, the community radio station run by Ahalia Group from 2pm onwards. The visit was organized as part of our UHV programme to understand the functioning of a community radio station and its role in society, which provided a deep insight into the realm of broadcasting. The session began with an introduction to the history and mission of Ahalia FM. The team explained how the station serves as a platform for local voices, providing educational, cultural, health, and social awareness content to nearby rural communities. Students were explained about radio station’s facilities, including the recording studio, editing room, and broadcasting section. Later the students got a chance to present a program in FM. The visit ended by 3:45pm





A session on “Basic Computer Skills” was conducted on Thursday, 03/07/2025 at ASCM Seminar hall.The session began with a formal welcome by Dr S N Jagadeesh, Principal, Ahalia School of Commerce and Mathematics. He introduced the resource person, Dr. Gunasekaran, Prof. & Head, Department of CSE, Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology. The session aimed at equipping the students with essential computer skills required in today’s digital age. Interactive demonstrations were provided to ensure practical understanding. The session successfully met its objectives by enhancing the participants’ knowledge and practical skills in computing. It was well-structured, interactive, and informative, empowering individuals to become more digitally literate.





A session on the “Importance of Skills and Communication” was conducted on Thursday, July 03, 2025, at the Seminar Hall of ASCM. The resource person of the session was Mr. Sreeranj S, Associate Director, North Central Zone, ASAP, Kerala. The objective of the session was to emphasize the growing need for soft skills and effective communication in both academic and professional settings. He highlighted the various types of essential skills, such as interpersonal abilities, time management, adaptability, and problem-solving, and demonstrated how these contribute significantly to personal and career growth.





A session on “Developing Entrepreneurial Skills” was held on Thursday, 3rd July 2025, at the ASCM, Seminar Hall. The session was conducted by Mr. Sunil Joseph, Managing Director SARK CABLES, PALAKKAD, with the aim of inspiring students to think creatively, take initiative, and understand the fundamentals of entrepreneurship. Mr. Sunil Joseph began by explaining the mindset of an entrepreneur, emphasizing traits such as innovation, resilience, risk-taking, and problem-solving. He discussed how young individuals can identify opportunities, validate ideas,and build sustainable business models using tools like the Business Model Canvas. The session also covered key aspects of starting and managing a business, including financial planning, marketing strategies, pitching to investors, and the importance of networking. The session concluded with motivational advice and practical tips on how to start small and think big, encouraging students to embrace entrepreneurship as a viable and rewarding career path.





As part of the Third Day of UHV program on Friday, 04/07/2025, Ahalia School of Commerce and Mathematics conducted a Life skill orientation session on the Topic “Contour Your Mind” at ASCM Seminar hall from 9.15 am. The session was presided with our honourable guest Lion V. Ramachandran Chirag, District Chairperson For Personality, Lions Club 318D. He spoke about the necessity of inventions, purpose of being our self, importance of being honest, your perception and vision on others opinion. He also spoke about the importance of wisdom in our daily life. He emphasized that success always comes from pain. The session opened the insights of Students in nurturing and developing on to good citizens of tomorrow’s world. Session ended by 1:00 pm.





As part of the UHV program, ASCM conducted a Business Quiz session for the first year Students from 2:00 pm at ASCM Seminar Hall. The resource person was Ms Sheeba Kumar S., Asst. Prof. ASCM. The students were divided into teams and the quiz was started. The quiz covered topics related to business concepts like, logos Brand Names of products etc. Team – 3 represented by BBA Students, Abhinmaya Prassoon, Praveena P. Menon, Shabiha A., Zimal Das S. and Aradhana C R from B Com, won the first prize.Team-1 won the second prize and Team -4 won the third prize. The program ended by 4.00 pm





A session on “Digital Banking and Customer Service” was conducted on Monday, 07/07/2025 at Ahalia School of Commerce and Mathematics to educate students about the growing role of technology in the banking sector and its impact on customer experience. The resource person of the session was Mr Dheeraj A. K., Branch Manager, SBI, Palakkad. The session began with an overview of digital banking, covering services such as online banking, mobile apps, UPI payments, and digital wallets, highlighting how these technologies have made banking more accessible, efficient, and customer-centric. The speaker highlighted various digital banking services such as mobile banking, internet banking, and digital wallets, emphasizing their convenience, speed, and security. Special emphasis was placed on the importance of cybersecurity, data protection, and educating customers about safe digital practices to prevent fraud. Real-world case studies and current trends were discussed to illustrate the impact of digital banking on customer satisfaction and loyalty. The session gave an insight about the latest trends in Digital banking.



A session on the “Significance of Sports and Physical Fitness” was conducted on 07/7/2025 at Ahalia School of Commerce and Mathematics to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle through regular physical activity. The session began with a formal welcome by Dr S N Jagadeesh, Principal, Ahalia School of Commerce and Mathematics. He introduced the resource person, Mr. Jibin Baby, Assistant Professor [PE], Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology. The speaker emphasized how physical fitness contributes not only to physical well-being but also to mental and emotional health. Key topics included the benefits of exercise in preventing lifestyle-related diseases, improving mood and energy levels, and enhancing overall quality of life. Participants were introduced to simple fitness routines that could be practiced daily, even without access to a gym. The session effectively highlighted that physical fitness is not just about appearance but about leading a healthier, happier life. It reinforced that small, consistent efforts can lead to significant improvements in overall well-being



A session on “Hormones Balance” was conducted on Monday, 07/07/2025 at Ahalia School of Commerce and Mathematics to educate the students on the crucial role hormones play in maintaining overall physical, mental, and emotional health. The resource person of the session was Dr Prem Narayanan, Endocrinologist & Medical Director, Ahalia Diabetes Hospital. The session began with an explanation of key hormones in our body and their functions. The speaker discussed common causes of hormonal imbalances, including stress, poor diet, lack of sleep, and sedentary lifestyles, and how these imbalances can lead to issues like fatigue, weight gain, mood swings, and reproductive problems. Emphasis was placed on natural ways to maintain hormonal balance through balanced nutrition, regular physical activity, stress management, and adequate rest. Students were also informed about the importance of early detection and consulting healthcare professionals when experiencing persistent symptoms. The session highlighted the significance of maintaining health in daily life





A session on “Time and Priority Management” was conducted on Tuesday, 08/07/2025 at ASCM Seminar Hall, from 9.15 am, aimed at helping the students develop effective strategies for organizing their tasks and maximizing productivity. The resource person was introduced by Dr S. N. Jagadeesh, Principal, ASCM. The resource person of the session was Mrs Chandrika Jayasankar IRPS (RTD), Career Consultant, Zone Trainer, JCI. She covered the key concepts like time auditing, the Eisenhower Matrix for distinguishing between urgent and important tasks, the SMART goals framework, the Pareto Principle (80/20 Rule), and practical techniques like time blocking and task batching. Participants engaged in interactive activities, individual exercises to reflect on their current time use and identify areas for improvement. The session also addressed common obstacles such as procrastination, distraction, and lack of prioritization, offering practical solutions and tools for overcoming them. Throughout the session, emphasis was placed on aligning tasks with long-term goals and values, leading to more meaningful and effective time use. The session ended by 1.00 pm






Ahalia School of Commerce and Mathematics organized a visit to the Ahalia Medicine Manufacturing Unit on 08/07/2025 from 2.00pm. During the visit the students had the opportunity to witness the meticulous process behind the production of high-quality Ayurvedic medicines. The visit began with a brief orientation led by the Administrative Officer, who introduced the students to the unit’s objectives and operations. We then toured the various sections of the facility, including the pre-processing unit, washing area, powdering and grinding rooms, furnace section, and the production halls. The facility is equipped with advanced machinery for tablet processing, blister packing, and capsule filling, all operating under international GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards. The students had the opportunity to witness the meticulous process behind the production of high-quality Ayurvedic medicines. The visit provided them a comprehensive understanding of the integration of traditional Ayurvedic knowledge with modern manufacturing practices, leaving them with a deep appreciation for the precision, discipline, and heritage upheld at Ahalia’s manufacturing unit. The visit ended by 4.00pm




On Thursday, 10/07/2025, as part of the UHV program the students were taken to a diary manufacturing unit, Milma Palakkad Diary. The visit commenced by 9.30am. In the plant the students were explained about the manufacturing procedures of milk and other dairy products. Live processing of the product and the procedures in packing and preservation techniques to maintain its quality were explained to them. The visit helped the students to understand the basic operational procedures to be followed in a manufacturing unit and in the dairy products also. The visit ended by 1.00 pm



A session on ” EMPOWER YOUR GROWTH: THE PATH TO CAREER SUCCESS” was conducted from 2.00pm.
The resource person was Mr M. V. Satheesh, Counselling Psychologist, Ahalia Group.
The students were explained about the ways to be followed to choose an ideal career paths. Activities were conducted to explain the process to select the best options in once career.
The program guided the students the ways to select the best career paths to meet their ambition in life to achieve the professional and personal growth. The session ended by 4.00pm






The UHV session for the day, Friday, 11.07.2025 ,was on the topic ” CAPITAL MARKET & MONEY MARKET”. The resource person of the session was Mr. Sajeevan G., Senior VP, Wealth Division, Ahalia FinForex.
The session started by 9:15 am at ASCM, seminar hall. He spoke about the basics of Capital and Financial Markets, benefits of investments and risk associated with investment in those markets. The procedures to be followed in investing in these markets, the examples of various such investment were explained to the students. The session ended by 1.00pm.




The students had a visit to Ahalia Heritage Village from 2.00pm onwards. The visit was to understand the tangible and intangible aspects of the past and roots of our nation to the students. It was provided to know the link between past, present and future generations, contributing to a strong national identity and offering valuable lessons for our sustainable development. The visit ended by 4.00pm



As part of Universal Human Values Program, first year students of BBA and BCom and faculty members visited the Ahalia Sculpture Park located within the Ahalia Campus in Palakkad on Monday, 14/07/2025 from 9.15 am. This visit was aimed at offering students an opportunity to experience artistic expression in an open and natural environment, promoting appreciation for art and culture. Ahalia Sculpture Park is an open-air art gallery that houses a wide range of contemporary and traditional sculptures created by renowned artists from various states across India. It is a part of the Ahalia Health, Heritage and Knowledge Village and stands as a testimony to the institution’s commitment to promoting art and culture. The park is known for its scenic beauty and inspiring installations that merge seamlessly with nature. The visit to Ahalia Sculpture Park was a highly educational and enriching experience. It helped students connect with art in a natural setting and develop a greater appreciation for cultural heritage and artistic expression. The visit plays a vital role in nurturing creativity and broadening students’ perspectives beyond academic curriculum. The visit ended by 1.00 pm.





A motivational session titled “Unleash the Best in You” was conducted on Monday, 14/07/2025 from 2.00pm onwards, to inspire and guide students towards achieving their full potential in both personal and academic life. The session was designed to help participants discover their strengths, overcome limitations, and cultivate a growth mind-set. The resource person of the session was Dr Sumina, Senior Consultant & Psychologist, Ahalia Ayurveda Medical College Hospital. The speaker emphasized that success is not merely about talent or intelligence, but about mindset, perseverance, and emotional strength. The session unfolded through various segments that were both reflective and interactive. The session served as a powerful reminder that personal growth begins with self-awareness and a positive mind-set. It helped participants understand that they have the ability to shape their future by believing in themselves and consistently working toward their goals. The session ended by 4.00pm.
