Ahalia School of Commerce and Mathematics on Thursday,13/02/2025 organised a session on Smart Computing for Business- Basics to AI Evolution for the BBA students from 11:00 a.m. The resource person of the session was Mr Joel T Aju, Teaching Assistant, ASET. The significance of the session was to make the students aware about the computing concepts from the basics to the latest advanced technologies used for business purposes. Dr. S.N Jagadeesh, Principal, ASCM gave the welcome address and officially invited and introduced the resource person. Then the resource person began the session with computer basics, such as Word and Excel. He taught how to create business documents using Word and also explained the basic formulas and functions of Excel which is used for business. Then he explained about MS PowerPoint and how to effectively deliver business presentations using PowerPoint. Also, he spoke about the importance of cyber security and conducted a detailed discussion on AI and how it is used for business. After the theoretical session he began with practical exercise on Word, Excel and PowerPoint presentations. Various shortcut keys used in the computer, how the operating system works using navigation and how the CPU works were explained. The practicality of using AI wisely in real life were also explained. The session ended by 1:00 p.m.
