On Tuesday, 06/08/2024, Ahalia School of Commerce and Mathematics conducted a hands-on training session on BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS for the First year BBA students. The session commenced by 9:00 am. Dr S Gunasekaran, Professor, Department of CSE, Ahalia School Of Engineering and Technology gave a brief introduction about the session. He mentioned that in today’s digital age, basic computer skills are essential in both personal and professional domains. Then Mr Sajeev V, Assistant Professor, Department of CSE, ASET along with Dr. S. Gunasekaran handled the practical session in the computer lab. They explained about the following topics:-

1)Ubuntu Operating System and its features.

2)Introduction to Libre Office

It included applications for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, diagrams, etc. Its aims are to provide a free alternative to proprietary office suites like Microsoft Office. The students were trained to do basic calculations in Calc, basic formatting in Writer and also to create presentation as a part of curriculum. The session ended by 12:30 P.M.
