P. K. GOPALAKRISHNAN MEMORIAL LECTURE: (A PRELUDE TO 37TH NATIONAL SCIENCE CONGRESS)
On Friday 10/01/2025, students of Ahalia School of Commerce and Mathematics attended the P. K. Gopalakrishnan Memorial Lecture, (A Prelude to 37th National Science Congress) at Govt. college Chittur, Palakkad. Resource person for the session was Prof. R. Ramakumar, Expert Member, Kerala State Planning Board and Professor, School Of Development studies, Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS), Mumbai. The lecture focused on the theme of P. K. Gopalakrishan Memorial, exploring innovative developments and the growing importance of science and technology in addressing contemporary global issues such as climate change, public health, and sustainable development. The lecture also addressed the role of technology and innovation in shaping future societal challenges. A significant portion of the lecture focused on the ethical considerations and the need for responsible scientific practices. The speaker urged the students to think critically and act responsibly in their future research careers. The lecture was well-attended by students from various educational institutions, with many expressing keen interest in the topics discussed. A Q&A session was held at the end, where students actively engaged with the speaker. The event concluded with an acknowledgment of Dr. Gopalakrishnan’s legacy, inspiring the next generation of scientists to contribute meaningfully to society through their research and innovations. The program ended by 1:00 p.m in the afternoon and the students returned back to college by 2:30 p.m. The students were accompanied by Mrs Sheeba Kumar S. Asst.Professor of ASCM.
