ONE DAY FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME ON RESEARCH METHODS IN MANAGEMENT AND TEACHING TRENDS

Ahalia School of Commerce and Mathematics organized a Faculty Development Programme on Saturday, 6th January 2024 on RESEARCH METHODS IN MANAGEMENT AND TEACHING TRENDS. The program commenced at 9.30 am with the lamp lighting ceremony by all the dignitaries. The dignitaries, research scholars and faculty members were welcomed by the Dr S. N. Jagadeesh, Principal, ASCM. The keynote address was done by Prof (Dr) B. Vijayachandran Pillai, Principal and Director, Ahalia School of Management. In his speech he mentioned his ideas and the importance of attending such kind of faculty development programmes. Then the programme was inaugurated by Dr Krishna Kumar Kishor, Executive Director, Ahalia Group of Institutions. In his inaugural speech he shared his views on faculty development programme. He further added that this FDP will provide special benefits to faculty members and research scholars. Vote of thanks has been delivered by Mrs. Athulya Baby, Assistant Professor, ASCM.  The inaugural session ended by 10.05 am.

The first session of FDP was on the Topic: Identification of Research Problem. The resource person was Prof (Dr) B. Vijayachandran Pillai, Principal and Director, ASM. In the session he elucidated why research is important and discussed the important sources for research problems and steps in identifying it. The session ended by 11.15 am.

The second session was by Dr Sreelakshmi C.C., Post-Doctoral Fellow, School of Management Studies, Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi. The topic of the session was: Selecting the appropriate data analysis techniques. She gave an overview of statistical tools needed while conducting research, along with the most appropriate tools in each method of variables was explained to the participants. The session ended by 1.15 pm. The memento to the resource person was presented by Dr S. N. Jagadeesh, Principal, ASCM.

The third session which commenced by 2.15pm was on Emerging Trends in Teacher Education was delivered by honorable Dr. K. Ramasamy, Chancellor of Karpagam Academy of Higher Education, Coimbatore. He focused on the use of technology in education. He also discussed the latest trends which are to be followed in current teaching scenario. The session ended by 3.45pm. The memento to the resource person was presented by Dr S. N. Jagadeesh, Principal, ASCM.

After the last session of FDP, the valedictory session was held. Certificates of participation were distributed to all the research scholars and faculties. The staff coordinators of the program were Mrs. Athulya Baby and Mrs. Sheeba Kumar S., Assistant Professor, ASCM.
